U.S. Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has requested information from key figures in the Biden-Harris Administration regarding the transportation of illegal immigrants within the United States. The inquiry was prompted by a video recorded at El Paso Airport, where a TSA agent mentioned that illegal aliens follow a "different process on a need-to-know basis."
Boebert addressed her concerns to Acting Director Patrick J. Lechleitner of ICE, Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of DHS, and Administrator David Pekoske of TSA. She emphasized the importance of maintaining safety and security during the busy holiday travel season.
In her letter, Boebert criticized the current administration for allowing migrants to use Border Patrol arrest paperwork or the CBP One app as identification while American citizens face stricter measures at TSA checkpoints. She stated, "At a bare minimum, the rules that apply to American citizens should also apply to illegal immigrants, particularly regarding identification."
Boebert highlighted statistics from ICE indicating that there are over 13,000 illegal aliens convicted of homicide and more than 15,000 convicted of sexual assault currently not detained in the U.S. She argued that these individuals pose a threat to national security.
The congresswoman posed several questions to federal agencies about their procedures for handling undocumented immigrants at airports and whether taxpayer dollars fund their travel. She expressed concern over reports that ticketed passengers have been removed from flights to accommodate illegal aliens.
Boebert concluded by urging federal leaders to prioritize American safety and security and requested prompt responses to her inquiries.
