Pueblo County issued the following announcement on Nov. 24.
Public Health Officials from the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment are scheduled to inspect retailers for the safety of the public over the Black Friday shopping weekend. Public Health will be enforcing the mandates from Public Health Order 20-36.
All retail, critical and non-critical, are limited to 50% posted occupancy limits and must follow social distancing and mask guidelines under Colorado’s Safer at Home Level Red: Severe Risk, the level Pueblo County is currently.
“Shopping and visits to local retailers this coming weekend is an annual event for many, and our community’s finances depend on the activity,” stated Randy Evetts public health director at the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment. Evetts added, “We want retail to occur safely.”
All retail must have a mechanism to gauge the amount of people entering a facility, enforce mask wearing, and exclude people not wearing a mask. The expectation of public health is that all lines indoors or outdoors are kept to individuals and household groups at least six feet apart, floor markings are encouraged to guide this process.
