Pueblo County issued the following announcement on Sept. 25.
Community COVID-19 Testing Site Open Monday through Saturday
Pueblo County’s free COVID-19 drive-thru testing site is open this week from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday in the Livestock Pavilion on the Colorado State Fairgrounds. Enter the site through Gate 4 off Mesa and Gaylord avenues. There is no limit to the number of people who can be tested per day.
Testing is encouraged for people experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, first responders, health care workers, critical infrastructure employees, teachers, and individuals who work in congregate settings.
Important Testing Information:
- Testing is free
- Testing is administered by test site staff; self-swab testing is not available
- Testing is encouraged for individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
- Testing will be provided for anyone who feels the need to get tested for COVID-19
- Testing will be provided to individuals 2 years of age or older
- No insurance or physician referral is required
- Mask are required.
- There are resources on site for our Spanish-speaking population
- Pre-registration is recommended but not required
Outbreaks Announced at U.S. Bank and Trane Technologies
Public health officials from the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment announced two new COVID-19 outbreaks in Pueblo County. U.S. Bank, 3330 N. Elizabeth, and Trane Technologies reported outbreaks on September 24, 2020.
According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, an outbreak in a facility is defined as two or more confirmed cases of COVID-19 during a 14-day period. To date, U.S. Bank has two employees test positive and Trane Technologies has three employees test positive.
Pueblo County has had 23 reported outbreaks, eight are active, 15 resolved.
Pueblo’s COVID-19 Case Updates
Health officials from the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment announced a Pueblo County resident has died related to COVID-19. A 95-year-old man, who previously was reported positive for COVID-19, died. The reported deaths bring the total in Pueblo County to 37.
Public health officials from the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment announced 40 new positive COVID-19 cases in Pueblo County since Monday, September 21. The positive cases are a 8-year-old female, 10-year-old female, 10-year-old female, 12-year-old female, 23-year-old female, 25-year-old female, 26-year-old female, 27-year-old female, 28-year-old female, 35-year-old female, 37-year-old female, 38-year-old female, 39-year-old female, 43-year-old female, 57-year-old female, 64-year-old female, 66-year-old female, 15-year-old male, 84-year-old female, 10-year-old male, 11-year-old male, 15-year-old male, 19-year-old male, 21-year-old male, 31-year-old male, 32-year-old male, 36-year-old male, 38-year-old male, 40-year-old male, 40-year-old male, 41-year-old male, 44-year-old male, 45-year-old male, 48-year-old male, 49-year-old male, 50-year-old male, 52-year-old male, 57-year-old male, 61-year-old male, and 67-year-old male. Pueblo County has a total of 1,063 confirmed positive and probable* cases among Pueblo County residents. The total number of people testing, 21,119 is not reflective of everyone testing negative in Pueblo County.
Confirmed and probable cases have been combined to align with state and national data. However, the COVID-19 Status Update chart will continue to show probable cases.
As cases continue to be investigated, the data in this update is subject to change.
*A probable case meets the clinical criteria and epidemiological evidence, yet it has not been laboratory confirmed with a test. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is now reporting probable cases across the state.
