Pueblo County issued the following announcement on Aug. 28.
Community Free COVID-19 Testing Site Temporarily Relocated During 2020 State Fair
Pueblo County’s free COVID-19 drive-thru testing relocated just outside the Colorado State Fairgrounds. The site will operate in the parking lot at Arroyo and Acero avenues through September 9 while the 2020 Reimagined Colorado State Fair is in session. There is no limit to the number of people who can be tested per day.
Currently, the following individuals can be tested for COVID-19 at Pueblo’s COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing:
- Any individual who is symptomatic. Symptoms are new loss of taste or smell, headache, sore throat, cough, fever or chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. This list does not include all possible symptoms. Visit cdc.gov for the list of symptoms as it continues to be updated with more information learned about COVID-19.
- Anyone over the age of 65 (symptomatic or asymptomatic)
- African American, Latino, American Indian Tribes (symptomatic or asymptomatic)
- Anyone who had contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19
- Health care workers and first responders (symptomatic or asymptomatic)
- Individuals two years and older (symptomatic)
- Attended a large gathering or protest (symptomatic or asymptomatic)
Governor Polis Extends, Amends Executive Order
Gov. Polis extended an Executive Order temporarily suspending certain statutes preventing the issuance of marriage licenses when county clerk and recorder offices are closed due to COVID-19. The Governor also amended and extended an Executive Order temporarily suspending certain regulatory statutes due to the presence of COVID-19.
Gap Fund Application Open August 31
Energize Colorado, alongside the State of Colorado and the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, announce that applications for grants and loans through the Energize Colorado Gap Fund will open on Monday, August 31, 2020.
Small businesses with fewer than 25 full-time employees can apply for support through a mixture of grants and loans, up to a maximum of $15,000 in grants and $20,000 in loans for a possible combined total of $35,000 in financial assistance. State of Colorado delivers medical-grade Masks to Colorado Schools
The Colorado State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) has delivered 672,750 KN95 medical-grade masks to Colorado schools. This includes staff members who work directly with students at any K-12 public school, private school, charter, BOCES, district and facility school.
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) worked with the SEOC to coordinate the delivery to Colorado schools for a 10-week supply of KN95 masks -- one mask per week -- for every staff member who works directly with students. The initial delivery of KN95 masks began on Aug. 17, 2020. Masks will be delivered once a week for 10 weeks.
Charter schools and non-Catholic private schools pick up their supply of masks in the district where they are located. Masks for staff members at Catholic schools will be delivered to each diocese. For more information, visit the KN95 Masks for Colorado Schools webpage.
Outbreak Updates
Public Health officials from the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment announced a new COVID-19 outbreak in Pueblo County. Russ Davis Wholesale reported an outbreak.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment deems an outbreak as two or more confirmed COVID-19 cases in a facility or (non-household) group with onset in a 14-day period.
The COVID-19 outbreak at Taco Bell at 3333 N. Elizabeth Street has been resolved. CDPHE deems an outbreak resolved after 28 days have passed with no new illness reported. Pueblo County has had 16 reported outbreaks with nine resolved. CDPHE’s report of outbreaks at facilities statewide is updated weekly on Wednesdays at covid19.colorado.gov/data.

The positives cases are a 19-year-old female, 20-year-old female, 22-year-old female, 23-year-old female, 29-year-old female, 30-year-old female, 31-year-old female, 33-year-old female, 35-year-old female, 35-year-old female, 35-year-old female, 37-year-old female, 37-year-old female, 38-year-old female, 39-year-old female, 42-year-old female, 44-year-old female, 44-year-old-female, 45-year-old female, 45-year-old female, 46-year-old female, 48-year-old female, 51 year-old female, 53-year-old female, 56-year-old female, 57-year-old female, 61-year-old female, 11-year-old-male, 16 year-old male, 18-year-old male, 19-year-old male, 24-year-old male, 26-year-old male, 30-year-old male, 32-year-old male, 47-year-old male, 51-year-old male, 54-year-old male, 56-year-old male, 58 year-old male, 61-year-old male, 72-year-old male, 9-year-old gender unknown, 20-year-old gender unknown, 24-year-old gender unknown, 38-year old gender unknown, 43-year-old gender unknown, 54-year-old gender unknown. Pueblo County has a total of 858 confirmed positive and probable* cases among Pueblo County residents. The total number of people testing, 15,421 is not reflective of everyone testing negative in Pueblo County.
