Pueblo County issued the following announcement on July 31.
Unified Messaging Briefing Expanded to Twice a Week on Monday and Friday
Due to an increased request from the public to have more frequent updates on COVID-19 data and information, Unified Messaging will release a written briefing to the media and community leaders on Monday and Friday at 4 p.m. beginning today. The briefings include information from Unified Messaging partners about COVID-19 related issues as well as COVID-19 case numbers and other data pertaining to Pueblo County. The updates will also be posted on the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment’s social media, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Currently, there will be no briefing on Wednesday.
Community Free COVID-19 Testing Continues into August at State Fairgrounds
Pueblo County’s free COVID-19 drive-thru testing at the Colorado State Fairgrounds will continue at the Colorado State Fairgrounds in August. Testing is every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no limit to the number of people who can be tested per day.
Currently, the following individuals can be tested for COVID-19 at Pueblo’s COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing:
- Any individual who is symptomatic (symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea).
- Anyone over the age of 65 (symptomatic or asymptomatic)
- African American, Latino, American Indian Tribes (symptomatic or asymptomatic)
- Anyone who had contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19
- Health care workers and first responders (symptomatic or asymptomatic)
- Individuals five years and older and those with access and functional needs, including adults, may be tested by a caregiver or another adult
- Attended a large gathering or protest
Governor Extends Several Executive Orders Related to COVID-19 Pandemic
Governor Jared Polis extended several orders this week related to the COVID-19 pandemic. An order allowing for food trucks to operate at rest stops in the state has been extended for 30 days as has an order suspending certain statues concerning taxpayer filing requirements for certain taxable property. Outbreak Updates
Public health officials from the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment announced two new COVID-19 outbreaks in Pueblo County. Martin Marietta and Pueblo Regional Building Department have reported outbreaks.
According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, an outbreak in a facility is defined as two or more confirmed cases of COVID-19 during a 14-day period.
To date, the Martin Marietta has two employees and Pueblo Regional Building Department has two employees who tested positive for COVID-19.
Pueblo’s COVID-19 Case Updates
Public health officials from the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment announced 33 new positive COVID-19 cases in Pueblo County since Monday, July 27. The positives cases are 13-year-old female, 15-year-old female, 17-year-old female, 18-year-old female, 23-year-old female, 28-year-old female, 29-year-old female, 29-year-old female, 31-year-old female, 32-year-old female, 40-year-old female, 41-year-old female, 43-year-old female, 46-year-old female, 47-year-old female, 50-year-old female, 54-year-old female, 67-year-old female, 5-year-old male, 10-year-old male, 19-year-old male, 19-year-old male, 24-year-old male, 29-year-old male, 31-year-old male, 37 year-old-male, 45-year-old male, 50-year-old male, 51-year-old male, 52-year-old male, 60-year-old male, 62-year old male and 64-year-old male Pueblo County has a total of 604 confirmed positive and probable* cases among Pueblo County residents. The total number of people testing, 12,516 is not reflective of everyone testing negative in Pueblo County.
