City of Canon issued the following announcement on July 22.
Beginning Monday, July 27, 2020, the Cañon City Water Department will begin its annual program of exercising fire hydrants throughout the system.
Beginning Monday, July 27, 2020, the Cañon City Water Department will begin its annual program of exercising fire hydrants throughout the system. The purpose of this program is to remove sediment and tuberculation from the water mains, which improves the water quality.
Flushing this year will begin on the south side of the system and work toward the south and eastern end. Once completed on the south side crews will then move to the north side. It will take approximately 6 - 8 weeks to complete. You may experience cloudy water or low pressure for a short period of time during this flushing program.
