During the 2022-23 school year, school administrators in Huerfano School District RE-1 handed out 115 disciplinary actions, according to the Colorado Department of Education. That’s an increase over the previous school year.
Hispanic or Latino students suffered the most disciplinary actions (62.6%), followed by white students (29.6%).
In comparison, Hispanic or Latino students made up 58.4%, white students accounted for 39.7%, Black students for 1.5%, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander students for 0.4% of overall enrollment in Huerfano schools during 2022-23.
