During the 2022-23 school year, school administrators in Las Animas School District No. Re-1 handed out 319 disciplinary actions, according to the Colorado Department of Education. That’s an increase over the previous school year.
Hispanic or Latino students suffered the most disciplinary actions (51.7%), followed by white students (41.4%).
In comparison, Hispanic or Latino students made up 52.5%, white students accounted for 43.4%, Black students for 2.7%, multiracial students for 1.4% of overall enrollment in Bent schools during 2022-23.
